Why is My Newborn Baby Fussy?

Who doesn't love babies? We all love babies; they're so cue and cuddly, you just want to reach out and touch them, squeeze they cute little arms and legs. You want to carry and hug the little baby close to you, they even smell nice. Yes, babies are so special, but what about when they're fussy?
What about when they're screaming and tears running down they're face. Her face is all red and she doesn't want to stop crying and screaming. She really seems out of control and you don't know why. You pick her up to carry and comfort her and she doesn't stop, maybe even screams and cries more. You let's face it a fussy baby can get on your nerves, especially when you're a new mother and you're tired.
It's so easy to lose your patience when you are a new mother and your baby starts to fuss and you don't know why. She just starts to cry for no reason that you can tell at that moment. Just remember that they really are fussy because there is a reason that we cannot discern. Of course they can't tell us what is bothering them so they will fuss and cry as a way to signal us until we do figure out what is bothering them. Your newborn was not born with instructions so it is up to you to figure her out.
After cuddling and comforting your newborn and she still continues to be fussy here are some things that you can check on. Is your baby's diaper wet or dirty? That can cause discomfort. Maybe your baby is just hungry or if you just fed her maybe she needs to be burped. If so pick her up and gently tap her back from the bottom up. This can help.
Also check to make sure your baby is not too hot or too cold. Temperature can be a bit of a problem for a newborn. Just feel her skin to make sure she is not too hot or too cold and adjust accordingly. Adding or removing clothing or blankets can help. Maybe even moving her away from the source of the extreme temperature change can help.
These are the basic things to check on first when your newborn is fussy. If your baby is not comfortable or happy she will fuss. After checking your baby and none of these things seem to be the problem don't get frustrated. They are a couple other things that you can check on before worrying.
Sometimes when a newborn is tired she will fuss. Picking her up and comforting her and even singing to her can help. Also if your baby is bored she will fuss. Yes babies do get bored. Holding your baby in the same position for a long time can cause boredom. If she has been sitting for a long time in the same place she will be bored and it is time to move her, give her a different position and a different view.
If she is lying down like in her crib you could hang something that moves like a mobile above her to give her something to look at. You could play soft music while softly tapping her. You can also sing to her. Try shaking a rattle in front of her or a stuffed animal. These things can break her boredom and can help to soothe her.
Usually there is something very simple that you can do to help your baby and her discomfort. Sometimes she is just fussy and moody for no reason and it will take some patience on your part. But after all of this and she is still fussing maybe there is something wrong that you cannot fix or something that you cannot notice by yourself.
If after checking on all of the above and what other things that you can think of and your baby is still fussy, you should take her to see her doctor. Like I said before, babies can't talk and tell you that she is not feeling well or feeling sick so being fussy can be a blessing, especially when she is feeling sick. Your doctor can give her a check up and determine if something is wrong and give you more advice as to what to do. Also going to the doctor when nothing seems to soothe her will give you peace of mind even if it turns out that she is not sick. Your doctor can also give you more suggestions on how to keep your baby comfortable.
